May 9 ... Saturday, 7 PM Red Molly ... Newgrass

Red Molly is a superb national act that will grace the Opera House stage this season. A featured act at Merlefest 4 times, the outstanding musical trio of Laurie MacAllister (bass), Abbie Gardner (dobro) and Molly Venter (guitar), each an accomplished singer/songwriter with individual recording credits, merged to form the supergroup Red Molly.  Their joyous soaring 3 part harmonies and a capella original compositions as well as stirring covers of folk, bluegrass and honky-tonk tunes have brought audiences to their feet around the world.  You've heard their voices and tunes on media, but the unmistakable chemistry and magic of a live show is not to be missed! Their 2014 release "The Red Album" is wildly cool with an edge that shows these creators are moving beyond the traditional female folk trio to new heights of American fusion music.  Visit redmolly.com to view their videos and sample their unique sound, or buy their music!  See them live at the Edwards Opera House May 9th show at 7 PM, $18 at the door.
